What is coaching?

Coaching is a one-on-one relationship focused on life and leadership transformation. While it includes all the benefits of counseling, mentoring and accountability, coaching is more holistic. MCI's coaching engages the Holy Spirit and applies a systematic approach to achieve success in one's spiritual life, personal discipline, leadership advancement, optimum health and priority management.

Why get coached?

Christians are called to excellence in life and ministry. 1st Timothy 4:12 says to "...set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity." Coaching provides a framework to assess, develop and grow these key areas. The outside perspective and direct approach from your coach will allow you to eliminate blind spots and receive expert counsel, direction and encouragement.

How does it work?

Your coaching begins with behavioral assessments, an introduction to coaching tools and a two-hour session with your coach. You will discuss goals, your current reality and develop key objectives for your experience. You will then participate in two, 30-minute calls each month.

Additionally, you may take advantage of onsite opportunities to supplement your one-one-coaching. From team building to strategic planning, your coach provide growth opportunities in all areas of life and leadership.

Ministry Coaching International Names New President

BEND, Ore. – Monday, November 7, 2011 – Ministry Coaching International (MCI), a non-profit dedicated to serving ministry leaders in their personal and professional lives, has named Dick Savidge as its new president.  He replaces Greg Salciccioli who recently resigned to establish his own coaching practice after co-founding MCI in 2000.

Savidge brings nearly 40 years of leadership, counseling, fundraising  and pastoral experience to the position.

“As we look to grow our ability to impact the lives of more pastors and leaders, we are excited to have someone with Dick’s experience and skill set leading MCI,” said Daniel Harkavy, Chairman, MCI Board of Directors, and CEO, Building Champions. “On behalf of the entire board, we want to thank Greg Salciccioli for his 11 years of faithful service. Greg created a strong foundation for this ministry, and we are excited to see what our new leadership team is able to build.”

Prior to joining MCI, Savidge was a Field Vice President at Generous Giving since 2006, where he was responsible for encouraging people in their journey with Jesus and generosity. He also spent 10 years as the Vice President of Advancement for Young Life, working with major donors to secure funding for their mission.

Savidge also has extensive experience in counseling, having served as the Director of Counseling and Pastoral Care at Cherry Hills Community Church (a 4,000 member congregation in Highlands Ranch, Colorado) for 12 years, managed his own private marriage and family counseling practice and founded La Vie Counseling Center (which has grown to become southern California’s largest Christian counseling center).

He received his Bachelor’s in Humanities from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and both his Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling and Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. Savidge has been ordained in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church since 1986.
